🚀 Your NDIS Pathway with Care Provisions Australia

Understanding the NDIS Process – Step by Step

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government-funded initiative designed to provide essential support and services to Australians living with a disability, their families, and carers. It offers funding to eligible individuals under the age of 65 to help them live more independent, empowered, and connected lives.

At Care Provisions Australia, we’re here to guide you through the entire NDIS journey—from understanding your eligibility to implementing your support plan with confidence. As a trusted NDIS provider in Melbourne, our team offers compassionate guidance, practical advice, and ongoing support at every stage.

🛤️ The NDIS Participant Pathway

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the NDIS process:

âś… Step 1: Contact the NDIA

Begin by contacting the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to check your eligibility.
📞 Call 1800 800 110 or visit ndis.gov.au

If you’re already receiving government disability support, you may be contacted automatically to transition into the NDIS.

🤝 Step 2: Meet Your NDIS Partner or Local Area Coordinator (LAC)

You’ll be assigned a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or NDIS planner who will take time to understand your personal situation, needs, and future goals—for yourself or your child.

🎯 Step 3: Identify Your Needs & Goals

Together with your LAC, you will:

  • Explore your current support networks

  • Define your NDIS goals (e.g., building life skills, finding work, accessing the community)

  • Identify the types of support needed (e.g., therapy, personal care, assistive technology)

📝 Step 4: Develop & Finalise Your NDIS Plan

Your LAC will help create a customised NDIS plan, which may include:

  • Informal supports from family, friends, or the community

  • Services from schools, doctors, or health professionals

  • Funded supports for services related to your disability

Once approved by the NDIA, you’ll receive your official NDIS plan with allocated funding.

🔍 Step 5: Choose Your NDIS Provider

Now it’s time to choose the right providers to deliver your supports.
We recommend researching and shortlisting based on:

  • Experience and qualifications

Meet with an NDIA partner or planner
Your NDIA partner will get to know both you, your child, and your personal situation.

After spending time with your child, your NDIA partner will better understand the support and services your child needs to help reach their goals.
